Kesgrave Town Council Highly Commended at Suffolk Community Awards

We are delighted to announce that Kesgrave Town Council has been awarded a 'Highly Commended' honour in the prestigious 'Council of the Year' category at the Suffolk Community Awards 2026. This recognition celebrates our dedicated 'Can Do' approach in serving our wonderful community.

The awards ceremony, a vibrant gathering of community representatives from across Suffolk, took place at the Food Museum in Stowmarket. It was a memorable occasion celebrating individuals and organisations who tirelessly dedicate their time, energy, and compassion to support others throughout the county.

A Celebration of Community Spirit

With a record-breaking 305 nominations received, the judging panel faced the challenging task of selecting winners from an exceptional field. While only a select few could receive an award, every nominee has made a valuable contribution to strengthening communities across Suffolk.

Welcoming guests to the ceremony, Jonathan Agar, Managing Director of the Food Museum, recognised the achievements of every nominee, reflecting that while only a select few could receive an award, each nominee had made a valuable contribution to their community and should feel proud of their achievements.

Sally Longmate, Chief Executive of the Suffolk Association of Local Councils, said:
"What made the evening so special was the warmth, kindness and humanity shown by every nominee and winner. Across Suffolk, so many people quietly give their time, energy and heart to help others, often without ever expecting recognition. These awards are a chance to pause, say thank you, and celebrate the people, parish and town councils, parish meetings, volunteers and organisations who make our communities stronger, kinder and more connected."

The event not only celebrated achievement but also served as a moment to reflect on the remarkable resilience and strength demonstrated by communities throughout the past year, particularly when facing difficult circumstances.
