Kesgrave Town Council is committed to ensuring its website and online content are accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. This website has been designed and tested to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA standard, in line with the requirements of the National Association of Local Councils (NALC) and the Suffolk Association of Local Councils (SALC).

We use structured headings, semantic HTML, ARIA labels, descriptive link text, and alternative text for images to ensure that all users—including those using assistive technologies—can access our information. Regular audits, both manual and automated, are carried out to confirm that we maintain AA compliance across all pages and document downloads.

We are also working proactively towards achieving full WCAG 2.2 AAA compliance. This ongoing programme includes improvements in areas such as:

• Enhanced contrast ratios and text readability.
• More detailed link and form labelling for screen readers.
• Accessible file structures for downloadable PDFs (including tagging, alt text, and logical reading order).
• Testing with multiple assistive technologies, including voice navigation and keyboard-only operation.

We will publish updates as each section of the website reaches AAA standard, including key areas such as Transparency and Governance, Community Information, and Forms and Interactive Features.
