Overview

Kesgrave Town Council has formally signed the Civility & Respect Pledge, an initiative led by SLCC, NALC, OVW, and County Associations to promote respect, civility, and good conduct across the local council sector. The pledge encourages councils to foster a culture of professionalism, inclusion, and mutual respect between councillors, staff, and the public.

Kesgrave Town Council’s Commitments

  • Treat all councillors, staff, volunteers, and the public with civility and respect.
  • Provide training and ongoing development for councillors and staff.
  • Adopt and uphold the Code of Conduct for councillors.
  • Maintain strong governance policies including the Dignity at Work Policy.
  • Address bullying and harassment proactively and professionally.
  • Seek expert support at early stages when issues arise.
  • Promote best practice and act as a role model council.
  • Support national efforts to strengthen civility and respect through legislative change.
