Guidelines for Managing Fast Food Vendor Enquiries and Use of Council Land
The Fast Food Vendor Policy explains how Kesgrave Town Council manages enquiries from fast food vendors seeking to operate on Council-owned or managed land. It aligns with East Suffolk Council’s regulatory policies on food safety, health, and environmental protection.
All initial enquiries are referred to East Suffolk Council (ESC), which oversees applications under its Strategic Compliance and Enforcement Policy covering environmental health, food safety, and statutory nuisances. Kesgrave Town Council applies its own assessment criteria for use of its land.
If approved, a rent agreement will set terms for setup, trading, and clearing away. The Council monitors compliance and may terminate the agreement with one month’s notice.
One fast food vendor is permitted on the Council car park at Ferguson Way on Thursdays, 4pm–8pm. Due to planning and land restrictions, this site is limited to one vendor only.
