About this item

Overview

The Noticeboard Policy 2025–2028 sets out how Kesgrave Town Council manages, maintains, and uses its public noticeboards to keep residents informed. These noticeboards provide a vital communication channel for statutory notices, community events, and local information.

Purpose

The policy ensures that Council noticeboards are used appropriately and maintained to a high standard. It explains where noticeboards are located, what information is displayed, and how local groups can request permission to post materials.

Noticeboard Locations

Kesgrave Town Council currently manages four public noticeboards across the town:

  • Two noticeboards on the external walls of the Town Council Office.
  • A shared noticeboard outside Cedarwood Primary School.
  • The largest community noticeboard at the Rupert Fison Centre (RFC) near Tesco.

Use and Display

The Council’s office noticeboards are primarily used for:

  • Statutory notices, including Council and Committee meeting agendas and election notices.
  • Office opening hours and Councillor contact details.
  • An A3 map of Kesgrave and (space permitting) posters promoting local events or public information.

The Cedarwood Primary School and RFC noticeboards mainly display:

  • An A3 map of Kesgrave.
  • Contact details for the Council office and Councillors.
  • Posters promoting community activities and local events (space permitting).

Poster Display and Priority

Anyone wishing to display a poster on a Council noticeboard should contact the Council office. Priority is given to Kesgrave-based groups and events, and permission is granted at the discretion of the Council office. Posters are displayed for a maximum of four weeks and removed after the event date.

Unauthorised flyers or materials will be removed without notice, and damaged or unsafe noticeboards will be reassessed to determine whether replacement is required.

Maintenance

Noticeboards are updated weekly, subject to weather conditions, public holidays, and staff availability. The Council reviews each location’s ongoing need when maintenance or replacement is required.
