A civic service to remember and honour those who gave their lives
A short civic Remembrance Service held at Legion’s Green in Kesgrave to commemorate those who gave their lives in service to their country.
Kesgrave Town Council held a Remembrance Service on Monday 11 November at Legion’s Green, Kesgrave, to mark Armistice Day and honour the men and women who lost their lives in service to their country.
The service took place between 11:00am and 11:30am and formed part of the national act of remembrance observed across the United Kingdom each year on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month.
At 11:00am, a two-minute silence was observed in line with national tradition, allowing those present to reflect quietly and pay their respects.
Remembrance services provide an opportunity for communities to come together to remember the sacrifices made by members of the armed forces and civilians in conflicts past and present.
The Kesgrave service is a civic occasion, open to all, and reflects the town’s ongoing commitment to remembrance, respect, and reflection.
